This Privacy Policy explains how SightCheck (“Company,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and protects information through the SightCheck mobile application, website, and related services (collectively, the “Platform”).
We are committed to protecting the privacy of our users, including children (defined as ages 13 and under).
1. Information We Collect
A. Information You Provide
We may collect information that you voluntarily provide, including:
- Name and email address
- Account credentials
- User role (player, parent/guardian, organizer, coach, spectator)
- Player registration details
- Tournament and event participation information
- Chess game moves, notation, and results
- Communications with support
Payment information is processed by third-party payment processors. We do not store full payment card details.
B. Information Collected Automatically
When you use the Platform, we may automatically collect limited technical information, such as:
- Device type and operating system
- App version and performance data
- IP address (for security and fraud prevention)
- General usage and interaction data
This information is used solely to operate, secure, and improve the Platform.
2. Children’s Privacy (COPPA Compliance)
The Platform is designed for chess players, many of whom are children.
Children under the age of 13 may use the Platform only with verified parental or legal guardian consent.
Information Collected From Children
With parental consent, we may collect limited information from children, including:
- Legal Full name, Username or nickname
- Chess games, move history, and results
- Tournament or club participation data
Information We Do NOT Collect
We do not collect from children:
- Video recordings
- Audio recordings
- Biometric identifiers (such as facial recognition data)
Viewers do not see players’ faces, bodies, or physical likenesses, and no audio of players is captured or transmitted.
Any still-image capture used by the Platform is limited to what is reasonably necessary to read the chessboard and generate the gameplay display, and is not used to create a player video stream or audio recording.
Parents or legal guardians may at any time:
- Review their child’s personal information
- Request correction or deletion
- Withdraw consent

3. No Video or Audio Recording of Players
The Platform does not livestream or make video recordings of players, including minors.
Gameplay is displayed exclusively through:
- Animated or digital chessboard visualizations
- Digital move notation and game history
- AI-generated gameplay representations
Viewers do not see players’ faces, bodies, or physical likenesses, and no audio of players is captured or transmitted.
To generate the gameplay display, the Platform may use a camera to capture a series of still images at a low frame rate, solely for the limited purpose of reading the chessboard and detecting piece positions and moves. These still images are not used as an audio recording or video stream.
4. How We Use Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Operate chess tournaments, chess clubs, and chess events
- Display animated gameplay and game history
- Provide AI-assisted educational analysis
- Process registrations and payments
- Communicate service-related messages
- Improve performance, security, and user experience
We do not use children’s information for advertising purposes.
5. Cookies & Tracking Technologies
The Platform may use cookies, SDKs, and similar tracking technologies to:
- Enable core functionality
- Maintain security
- Analyze usage patterns
- Remember user preferences
We do not use tracking technologies to collect video, audio, biometric data, or precise location data, and we do not engage in behavioral advertising directed at children.
Users may disable cookies through their device or browser settings; however, some features of the Platform may not function properly.
6. Communications & Marketing
We may send transactional or service-related communications, such as:
- Account notifications
- Tournament updates
- Technical or security notices
Marketing communications (such as newsletters or promotions) will be sent only if you affirmatively opt in. We do not send marketing communications to children under the age of 13. You may opt out of marketing communications at any time.
7. Sharing of Information
We do not sell or rent personal information.
We may share information only in the following circumstances:
- With tournament organizers, solely for event administration
- With service providers who perform services on our behalf
- With payment processors to complete transactions
- If required by law or legal process
- To protect the rights, safety, or integrity of users or the Platform
8. Business Transfers
If the Company is involved in a merger, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of assets, user information may be transferred as part of that transaction. Any transferred information will remain subject to this Privacy Policy.
9. Data Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect personal information from unauthorized access, use, or disclosure. No system is completely secure, but we take privacy and data protection seriously.
10. Data Retention
We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary to:
- Operate the Platform
- Fulfill tournament and legal obligations
- Resolve disputes
- Enforce agreements
Parents may request deletion of a child’s data at any time.
